Spencerport Home
Spencerport Home is located in the village of Spencerport, New York.
The Spencerport Home contracts with the Department of Veteran Affairs for up to 13 beds and with the Monroe County Department of Social Services for up to 6 beds. Veterans are prioritized under both contracts but, when census allows, other vulnerable populations are accepted. For Veterans to begin the referral process please call the National Homeless Veteran Call Center at 1-877-4AID-VET (1-877-424-3838). After-hours referrals for Veterans can be made by calling the program directly at 585-617-3273.
For Veterans not eligible for VA services or civilians that need transitional housing services you must be a Monroe County resident and present to 691 St. Paul Street #1, Rochester, NY 14605. After hours referrals can be made by calling 585-442-1742.
The Spencerport Home offers 15 transitional beds for male residents experiencing housing instability. Residents are provided housing for up to 90 to 180 days while they search for and locate more permanent housing options.
Spencerport Home is centrally located and is in close proximity to many local amenities such as grocery shopping, schools, places of worship, medical care, banks, libraries, government agencies and general shopping.
Residents are provided:
- A bedroom including a bed (with sheets and linens provided), dresser,
nightstand, lamp, and locking closet
- Fresh and nutritious dinners prepared daily
- Healthy food options for independently-prepared snacks, breakfast, and
lunch
- Medication storage and oversight
- Life skills training including budgeting, relapse prevention, and cooking
- Assistance in housing and employment searches
- Transportation to medical, mental health, and substance use disorder
treatment, as needed
- Collaboration with the Department of Veterans Affairs and other community
organizations to locate stable and affordable long-term housing options
Upon arrival, residents meet with staff to complete an intake form and develop an individualized service plan. Clothing and/or personal hygiene items are provided to the residents, as needed.
