Frequently Asked Questions
Do you rent apartments to the general public?
No. Eagle Star Housing does not operate as a traditional apartment rental company.
Our housing programs are designed for individuals who qualify for supportive housing services, including Veterans experiencing homelessness and individuals living with qualifying behavioral health or other supportive service needs. Eligibility requirements vary by program.
If you are looking for a standard apartment rental, Eagle Star Housing is not the appropriate provider.
How do I know if I qualify for housing?
Eligibility depends on the specific housing program.
Many of our programs require referrals through Coordinated Entry, the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), SPOA, or other community referral partners. Some developments also contain general affordable housing units that are managed by independent property management companies.
Please review the information for the specific program or contact the appropriate office for guidance.
I already applied for housing. Can you tell me where I am on the waiting list?
The general Contact Us form cannot provide application or waiting list updates. Please contact the program or housing site where you submitted your application. The program director or property manager has the most current information regarding your application status.
I applied for an apartment in one of your buildings, but no one has contacted me.
Many Eagle Star Housing developments include both supportive housing units and general affordable housing units.
If you applied for a general affordable apartment, your application is managed by the property's management company—not Eagle Star Housing. Please contact the property management company directly for updates.
If you applied for supportive housing, please contact the program director for that location.
I'd like to donate items. Where do I drop them off?
Thank you for thinking of Eagle Star Housing!
Please contact the shelter or housing program where you would like to donate before bringing items. Storage space and current needs vary by location, and managers can coordinate the best time for drop-off. Also, check out our Donate page HERE.
What donations do you accept?
Our current donation needs are listed on our website:
Donation Needs
Needs change throughout the year, so we encourage you to review the current list before donating.
Do you accept clothing or furniture?
Generally, we do not accept used clothing or furniture.
Exceptions may occasionally be made based on a program's immediate needs, but these donations must be approved by the site manager before they are dropped off.
Please contact the location directly before bringing these items.
Can I refer someone who needs housing?
Yes. Referrals are accepted for many of our supportive housing programs through community partners and referral systems. Referral requirements vary by program and population served.
Under ‘Permanent Programs’ find the housing site you would like to be referred to and review and print the referral form. Instructions on how to apply are located within the referral form.
Do I have to be a Veteran to receive housing?
Not necessarily.
Some Eagle Star Housing programs specifically serve Veterans, while others serve individuals with qualifying behavioral health or supportive service needs. Eligibility depends on the individual program.
I have a question about a specific shelter or housing program.
For the fastest response, please contact the program or shelter directly.
